Alvaro is a white male with blue eyes and messy brown hair and a goatee. He appears to be on his 20s. His everyday clothing consists of:

  • An orange vest with a black tank top underneath
  • Dark blue jeans
  • Dark red shoes with white soles

Powers and abilities[]

Alvaro owns a strange weapon called the Drill Gloves. With these, drills come out of his hands and Alvaro can use them to dig, break rocks and much more. He can also perform spinning attacks similar to Crash Bandicoot.

At some point, Alvaro replaced the Drill Gloves with a pair of gauntlets that retained his abilities but in a more comfortable design.

Personality[]

Alvaro is an extroverted and energetic person, he always has something to say during a conversation, most of the times out of impulse. He's quite the sporty person, thanks to his martial arts training.

He is also bisexual, though only the rest of the Newsboy Legion knows about this. However, it doesn't really change how his friends view him.

Other counterparts[]

Alvaro (Pokemon)[]

Alvaro has a counterpart of the same name in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokemon franchise. In this version, he's a Pokemon Trainer from Johto like Carlos. His team consists of the following:

  • Infernape
  • Lycanroc (Night form)
  • Heracross
  • Sawk
  • Zangoose
  • Excadrill

Alvaro (Fire Emblem)[]

Alvaro has a counterpart of the same name in Nintendo's Fire Emblem series. Alvaro is a young man that travels the world as a treasure hunter with his friends Carlos and Luisianna. When Sergio and Marta's group first meet him, Dani is asking him for help to retrieve his Dragonstone. You can choose to recruit one of the three friends to fight back the Kilferian soldiers that are keeping Dani's Dragonstone (With the other two joining you automatically after the Dragonstone is retrieved). After the battle against the Emperor of Death, Alvaro's outcome depends on what happened with Carlos and Luisianna: If both of his friends are still alive, the three will continue travelling the world but often returning to Condalia to check on their friends. However, if Luisianna, Carlos or both die, Alvaro will enter into a state of severe depression and will become a criminal to drown his sorrow, and rumor has it that he was eventually caught and put into justice.

Alvaro starts off as a Thief. He can pick locks and fight with swords and daggers depending on the range. Later on, he can upgrade into Assassin, where his Speed and Skill are boosted to the point he will be very likely to land critical hits, or into Master Thief, where he only boosts speed but is able to pick locks without having to use lockpicks.

In Fire Emblem Heroes, Alvaro holds the title of "Eccentric Explorer" and is a blue dagger infantry unit.

Ryouta Michi (Persona)[]

Ryouta Michi is Alvaro's counterpart in the universe based on the Persona videogame series. In Persona S, he is a student from a school different from the one the protagonist studies. The group meets Ryouta during a field trip at his school, so he shows them around. His extrovert behavior quickly leaves a mark on the protagonist, telling him that, since there isn't too much distance between the schools, he can quickly come over to the dorm for a visit. However, the Zodiac Shadow of Scorpio drags him into its dungeon, making the protagonist and the rest of the group go after him. After being rescued, Ryouta receives a Persona, making him a member of the Basement Dwellers.

His Persona is Hanuman, hero of the monkey army from Hindu Mythology. It specializes in Physical and Electricity skills, as well as access to Power Charge and Counter-like passives. It resists Electricity but is weak to Fire.

Ryouta has a Social Link with the protagonist representing the Strength Arcana. Maxing out this Social Link allows Ryouta to have a second awakening, causing Hanuman to be reborn into Wukong, the hero of the tale Journey to the West. After evolving, it gains the ability to block Electricity attacks. Also, at some point during the Social Link, he confesses to the Protagonist that he is bisexual, making it possible to romance him, albeit only platonically.
